PlayerMentor Leadership Evening Highlights

What a way to kick off our PlayerMentor Alumni Project’s Event Calendar by celebrating the unwavering commitment of our PlayerMentors!

Kindly hosted by Toowoomba Grammar School and Brothers Rugby, our inspiring PlayerMentors brimming with passion and integrity, across our Queensland Rugby Clubs, were able to gather together for a Leadership Evening.

And what successes they both were! 76 members of the MRP Community – PlayerMentors, their parents and parents of MRP Players – filled the seats at our Brisbane Leadership Night and 34 attended in Toowoomba. A huge thank you to everyone who came along!

The evenings presented as the perfect opportunity for our PlayerMentors and parents to come together to reflect on all things ‘MRP’ and the season been.

Throughout the GingerCloud Leadership Program, each and every PlayerMentor displayed dedication and devotion towards the weekly modules, and it was reflected through their responses. The MRP Team would anticipate and be thrilled to receive everyone’s insights on the modules – one of many highlights of the week!

A commendable congratulations to Alecia Pienaar and Lua Jarrah for their awe-inspiring enthusiasm towards the Leadership Program. Both Alecia and Lua demonstrated a consistent, diligent approach and careful consideration towards their responses, individually earning themselves an award.

Alongside awards, those who attended in Toowoomba had the privilege to listen to the likes of Matt Horan and one of our MRP Ambassadors, Tim Horan AM, while Brisbane’s attendees gained invaluable advice from Andrew Chesterman, Matt Horan, Tara Kleine and our MRP Ambassador, Nathan Sharpe, to reinforce their learnings on resilience – a topic of conversation within the Leadership modules – and the components towards embracing this quality both on and off the field.

But, the night didn’t stop there! We also had two lucky winners, James Crothers and Olivia Harvey, who won two tickets each to the Springboks V Wallabies game from a lucky draw – what an amazing experience that will be!

The MRP Team would like to extend their gratitude to the Federal Department of Social Services (DSS) for their incredible and inspiring support of the PlayerMentor Alumni Project. It does not go unnoticed.

To our PlayerMentors, we cannot thank you enough for your commitment to the MRP Community, the Program and, most of all, to our amazing MRP Players. We could not achieve what we do without each and every one of you! You make the difference.

A friendly reminder to ensure you stay up to date with the Alumni Project Event Calendar to see what’s on and what’s next. Exciting things are coming your way!

The MRP Team
