Q&A Tuesday with Lincoln Rosiak

The MRP are proud to have Lincoln Rosiak as coach of the MRP 7s Red at Redlands Rugby this season. Lincoln is an asset to the MRP family as he has continued to contribute to the lives of the MRP Players both on and off the field.

We spoke to Lincoln to get his perspective on the program.

Q: How long have you been involved in the MRP?

A: “I have been involved in the MRP for three years now.”

Q: Why have you kept coming back?

A: “I kept coming back because I have just enjoyed the program quite a lot and it’s allowed me to further involve myself in the rugby community. The MRP has provided me with a lot of opportunities, including being on National television and be the Cover of Disability Action Week back in 2015, which was pretty cool!”

Q: What has it been like going from a PlayerMentor to a Coach within the MRP?

A: “From a PlayerMentor to a Coach, you have a different interaction with the Players. You aren’t necessarily one-on-one, but instead, you are more of a leader and a role model to both the PlayerMentors and the MRP Players.”

Q: What changes have you seen in the lives of the players you have mentored?

A: “Obviously their rugby skills have improved: one of my players went from not being able to kick a ball to kicking a ball over the post, so physically wise, we see heaps of progress. But there is also an increase in confidence both as players but also within themselves.”

Q: What does the MRP mean to Redlands Rugby?

A: “There is a sense of community at Redlands Rugby and a huge growth in the MRP at Redlands – from one team to three teams this season!”
