We are thrilled to announce that GingerCloud’s Modified Rugby Program has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Coca Cola Australia Foundation (CCAF) to expand the MRP Colts to include 3 new teams in 2018.

This will bring the total number of MRP Colts teams to four, including our pilot team at Wests Bulldogs, for the 2018 MRP season.

The MRP Colts, the newest division of the MRP, matches young adults with learning and perceptual disabilities between 14 and 18 with university-aged PlayerMentors.

Megan Elliott Managing Director of GingerCloud Foundation and the Co-founder of the MRP said CCAF’s support will offer more opportunities for young adults to get involved in the MRP.

“The CCAF specifically supports young people between 14 and 18 years of age so this funding is a great fit for the expansion of the MRP Colts program. This grant will help us continue to create pathways for inclusion for young adults with learning and perceptual disabilities and continue to nurture a generation of young people for whom disability is normalised,” Megan said.

To create moments of happiness for young Australians and to help them reconnect with their communities, CCAF provides grants to charities across the country through its Employee Connected Programs.

Stephen Heath National New Business Manager at Coca-Cola Amatil in Brisbane selected GingerCloud as his two children have participated in the MRP as PlayerMentors.

“This funding will greatly benefit young adults living with learning and perceptual disabilities living in Brisbane. Rugby is a great way to build resilience and learn to work as a team. I look forward to seeing more young people get involved as part of the program,” Stephen said.
